The course is a detailed review of the laws and regulations affecting and dealing with technology use in school districts. It includes the implications and pitfalls of the use of e-mail, blogs, and instant messaging by the Board of Education, along with the FOIA regulations and recent rulings on this subject. Additionally, it reviews the requirements of an Acceptable Use Policy for students, staff, and the Board of Education, as well as providing recent case law regarding the use of technology in schools.
