Coding in the 21st Century Classroom

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Struggling with the idea of how to embed coding into your curriculum? Come to this session and learn how one district has begun the journey to include coding
techniques into the student educational experience. In addition to gaining a better understanding of what coding offers students, participants will have the opportunity to explore tools such as the Sphero, Hour of Code, Bloxels and Little-Bits. The presentation will conclude with a detailed look at the Troy 30c after school Coding Club which serves as an extension of coding in the classroom.

Ron Sarver

Executive Director of Information Services, Troy CCSD 30-C
For the past 16 years I have worked with all aspects of elementary school technology, from data networking, systems administration to student information systems and custom application development. The last 3 years I have had the awesome privilege of sponsoring an after school Coding Club for 7th and 8th graders. I have found the club to be challenging and definitely rewarding.
