Diving Deep with Content-Area Literacy

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Students who are able to read at a higher level are better able to dive deeper into the content of their classes. But how and when do content-area teachers feasibly teach those skills? This session will focus on how to meaningfully integrate literacy practice in all content areas using technology. Participants will engage in reading and writing tasks that will model strategies to help reach a variety of learners at a various skill levels. Join us for some fun as we discover what will best help our students to critically think, read, write, and reflect to engage with their dynamic world.
This session will include exposure to relevant digital tools, but the majority will be focused on the actual methods teachers can use tomorrow in their classes to engage students, promote literacy skills, and utilize technology. Learn how to dive deep within your content by helping students develop the reading skills to swim on their own. There is no surface diving in this session so be ready to participate!
